Asbestos Worker (Initial)
Course Description:
This is a 32-hour course designed to provide training for asbestos workers to obtain an Arkansas Asbestos Worker license from DEQ. Topics include asbestos health effects, PPE, work site preparation, cleanup and disposal and include hands–on activities.

Learning Outcomes:
- Identify asbestos-related health hazards and explain the regulatory requirements and safe work practices associated with asbestos abatement activities.
- Demonstrate proper use of PPE, work-site preparation, decontamination, cleanup, and asbestos waste-handling procedures.
Must Know:
- Attendance is mandatory for all
- Must pass both written and practical exams with 70% or better for certification to be awarded
- Daily breaks are scheduled – please bring or plan to get lunch
