Division Training & Accreditations

The Arkansas Environmental Training Academy (AETA), delivers standards-based safety training designed to reduce workplace risks and ensure regulatory compliance. Courses serve professionals working in hazardous environments, construction, water utilities, transportation, and industrial operations.

Programs are developed to support certification, refresher requirements, and continuing education across multiple regulatory frameworks.

EHS training provided by the Arkansas Environmental Training Academy is accredited, authorized, or approved by:

  • Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Partnership for Environmental Technology Education (PETE)
  • Community College Consortium for Health and Safety Training (CCCHST)
  • Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment – DEQ, Office of Air Quality

These authorizations enable AETA to provide specialized safety training for hazardous materials workers, shippers, suppliers, TSD facility personnel, and emergency responders.

Message From The Instructor:
Hello, my name is Andy Carter. I am the AETA EHS Program Coordinator/Instructor. We are continuing the on-demand style schedule from past years to support your training needs as they arise. This opens up more opportunities for training by scheduling necessary courses as you need them. Our goal is to continue to offer flexible dates and class availability. Courses are available in both traditional and ZOOM formats, to ensure that course remain flexible; we still offer certain refresher courses online, as well as scheduled classes.

The EHS staff is authorized to provide training by OSHA, US DOT, the Hazardous Materials Training Research Institute (HMTRI), the National Partnership for Environmental Technology Education (NPETE), and the Community College Consortium for Health and Safety Training (CCCHST). This enables us to offer courses for municipalities and general industries, including specialized training for hazardous material workers, shippers, suppliers, TSD facility personnel, and Haz-Mat responders.
