Asbestos Inspector Refresher


Course Description:

This is an 8‑hour course designed for students to renew their Asbestos Inspector license required by the Arkansas Pollution Control and Ecology Commission 20 CAR § 860-101 (Regulation 21).

The course reinforces knowledge and skills developed during the initial Asbestos Inspector training while providing updates on regulatory requirements, identification of asbestos building systems, exposure pathways and risk factors, and sampling and documentation requirements and procedures.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identification of building systems containing asbestos (e.g., insulation, flooring, roofing, HVAC)-related work.
  • Identify exposure pathways and risk factors
  • Recognizing friable vs. non-friable asbestos-containing materials (ACM)
  • Recoginize sampling and documentation requirements and procedures.

Must Know:

  • Attendance is mandatory for all
  • Must pass both written and practical exams with 70% or better for certification to be awarded
  • Daily breaks are scheduled – please bring or plan to get lunch
