Hazwoper 40-Hour
Course Description:
This is a 40-hour course designed for persons who may be exposed to hazardous substances or health hazards as outlined in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120. Topics include hazard and risk assessment, PPE selection and use, control, containment and confinement operations, air monitoring, medical surveillance, terminology, decontamination procedures, incident command, DOT regulations, emergency response plans, and work termination.

Learning Outcomes:
- Recognize and evaluate chemical, physical, and environmental hazards associated with hazardous waste operations and select appropriate methods for controlling exposure.
- Demonstrate appropriate use of PPE, respiratory protection, air-monitoring concepts, decontamination procedures, site-control measures, and emergency-response practices.
Must Know:
- Attendance is mandatory for all
- Must pass both written and practical exams with 70% or better for certification to be awarded
- Daily breaks are scheduled – please bring or plan to get lunch
