Louisiana Water Supply Protection Specialist Endorsement Recertification
Course Description:
This is an 8-hour training course designed for current Louisiana
WSPS to renew their WSPS (backflow) endorsements.

8 Hours
Must Know:
- Students will demonstrate continued proficiency in field testing properly operating and malfunctioning backflow prevention assemblies in a controlled laboratory setting.
- Students will review and identify hydraulic conditions in water distribution systems that may allow backflow to occur.
- Students will interpret and evaluate field test results for backflow prevention assemblies.
- Students will identify cross-connections and select the appropriate backflow prevention assembly for protection against backflow conditions.
Must Know:
- Attendance is mandatory for all
- Must pass both written and practical exams with 70% or better for certification to be awarded
- Daily breaks are scheduled – please bring or plan to get lunch
