Solid Waste Master Level C
Course Description:
This is a 30-hour training course designed to prepare Journeyman Operators to
carry out the duties of a Master Level Operator in a supervisory capacity and to pass the Arkansas Division of Environmental Quality (Master level C) licensure exam.

Learning Outcomes:
- The students will develop awareness of advanced terminologies used in the management of a solid waste facility
- The student will recall and review previous solid waste level A and B topics
- Student will recognize Arkansas Code Annotated and how it applies to the solid waste industry
- Student will identify APC&EC Rule 8, Administrative procedures for DEQ and APC&EC
- Student will recognize management procedures that are outlined in Chapter 5 and translate them to apply to their own solid waste facility
- Student will identify the procedures for screening of all solid waste to exclude hazardous and prohibited waste
- Student will develop an understanding of what is needed for reporting and will be able to summarize reports in the solid waste industry
- Student will develop a understanding for safety and how it applies to all solid waste management facilities
- Student will recognize and identify the procedures for licensing of solid waste operators in Arkansas
- Student will describe the procedures outlined in APC&EC Rule 15, Borrow Pit Reclamation
- Student will recognize procedures for storm water controls and evaluate their practices at their sites
Must Know:
- Attendance is mandatory for all
- Must pass both written and practical exams with 70% or better for certification to be awarded
- Daily breaks are scheduled – please bring or plan to get lunch
