Retail Wastewater Provider Board Training
Course Description:
This is an 8-hour course mandated by Act 605 of 2021 for governing
bodies of retail water systems. The course provides awareness training for water treatment, distribution, and rule compliance. The course goes into greater detail concerning management responsibilities such as budgeting, rate setting, assessment management, bids and contracts, F.O.I., and conducting meetings.

Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the responsibilities of retail water system governing bodies under Act 605 of 2021.
- Recognize basic water treatment, distribution, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Apply sound management practices for budgeting, rate setting, and asset management.
- Understand requirements related to bids, contracts, and Freedom of Information (FOI).
- Conduct effective and compliant governing body meetings.
Must Know:
- Attendance is mandatory for all
- Must pass both written and practical exams with 70% or better for certification to be awarded
- Daily breaks are scheduled – please bring or plan to get lunch
- Participants are encouraged to bring questions or examples of safety hazards encountered at their water or wastewater facility.
